Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is shape. The swirling line carries the eye throughout the picture. There is also a sense of motion. You can see the how the light was moved around to create this. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the hue and saturation. The camera was set to a long shutter speed and a low ISO. This photo reminds me of a firework.

This photo was taken for the double exposure assignment.
What I like about this photo is the contrast of light on top of the dark portrait. My point of view was at the same level as the subject. The photo follows the rule of thirds because the trail of light starts at the bottom left and flows through the bottom of the portrait up to the upper right corner. |
This picture of my Nana on my phone's camera. It was taken over two years ago in her hospital bed. Previous to removing a few unwanted items, the bed frame was visible in the bottom left corner and a stuffed Elmo was beside her hand. I used the stamp tool to take those items away to have a plain white background to emphasize the hands in the photo.
